Open workshop

The workshop was (re-)inaugurated as an Open Workshop for public use on the 16th of April 2024.

We also plan to organize special events like bicycle repairs, knife sharpening parties, etc. This aims to also make it a social space for exchange, mutual help, skill-sharing and other forms of collaboration.

The Open Workshop is a member of Verbund Offener Werkstätten e.V., and also it is insured by it.

Additionally it is listed in the following websites:

https://kanthaus.online/en/projects/open-workshop

https://www.reparatur-initiativen.de/reparier-und-techniktreff-wurzen

https://offene-werkstaetten.org/werkstatt/kanthaus

Three general rules for the Workshop:

  1. Care for Safety: for yourself and others
  2. Care for Tools: by proper and intended use, checking working condition and fixing or notifying when necessary.
  3. Care for Order: by cleaning after work, and putting everything back in its place.
