Food moths
We live in an area where food moths are. The precise moth seems to be the Indian meal moth (Plodia interpunctella). They enjoy eating almost anything made from or containing grains, seeds or beans: we have found them in flour, pasta, sesame seeds, peas, pepper and chilis. Until now, we did not find them in pure sugar. We have found them able to eat through not just paper, but also plastic foil including foil with an aluminium layer! Safe storage materials are therefore thick plastic and glass.
