Although you should be fine without speaking German in the house, the level of English in Wurzen is not high and it's always respectful (and fun!) to learn the local language wherever you are.
Here are some resources we like:
- Language Transfer is a free audio course aimed at complete beginners coming from English. The approach avoids learning by repetition and helps reveal the German you already know.
- germanforenglishspeakers.com is a complete and concise reference for German structure, syntax and grammar
- wiktionary is crowd sourced dictionary (like Wikipedia) with good coverage of German. You can get an offline copy of the German Wiktionary using the free & ad-free app kiwix
