Creating a personal account on the public team
You can get an account on the public team by following this link.
Get invited to the not-so-public section
Your host should make sure to add you to the not-so-public team.
Channels on the not-so-public team
Our main channel is #kanthaus. Many channels we use have been historically prefixed by #kanthaus- because they were in a Slack instance shared with other people.
Some of those channels are private, because they contain private or sensitive information. Those are reserved to Volunteers and Members.
Known issues
This lists the issues we have encountered when switching from Slack to Mattermost:
- No email integration. We have built the MailMirror plugin for that, which could still be improved in many ways
- No support for reminders of events (for instance stored in an ICS file)
- Not possible to fully rename the "Town Square" channel (the id will stay `~town-square`)
